Introduction
In our mission to make home service businesses run smoother with Tedious, we collect and use information about:
Pros (owner-operators and small crews) using Tedious to run their business
Customers who request service, book, or pay through a Tedious-powered business page, checkout, or chat experience
Partners who help Pros use Tedious (for example, integrations, referrals, or implementation support)
Users of Tedious apps and services, including AI-assisted messaging and automation (“Ted”)
Visitors to Tedious websites, or anyone contacting Tedious support
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information. If we change our privacy practices, we may update this Privacy Policy. If any changes are significant, we will notify you (for example, through the Tedious app, business dashboard, or by email).
Our values
Trust is the foundation of Tedious. Three values guide how we build and operate the platform.
1) Your information belongs to you
We carefully evaluate what information we need to deliver the Service, and we aim to collect only what we truly need. Where possible, we delete, aggregate, or anonymize information when we no longer need it. We design with privacy in mind and use your information to help you run your business and serve your customers.
2) We protect your information from others
If a third party requests your personal information, we don’t share it unless you give us permission or we are legally required. When legally permitted, we will notify you in advance of required disclosure unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
3) We help Pros meet their privacy obligations
Many Pros don’t have privacy teams. We build features and defaults that support privacy-friendly workflows (for example, secure checkout, data controls, and account permissions), and we provide guidance and support to help Pros understand and meet privacy obligations.
Why we process your information
We process your information when needed to:
Provide the Service (for example, creating accounts, delivering the business page and checkout, sending confirmations, enabling messaging, and processing payments)
Meet contractual obligations (for example, subscription billing for Pros)
Support legitimate business interests, including:
preventing risk, fraud, and abuse
providing customer support
improving and maintaining features (including AI-powered assistance)
providing analytics and reporting
testing and developing new features
communicating with you about the Service
marketing, advertising, and sales outreach (where permitted)
We evaluate the impact of processing on privacy and use safeguards such as transparency, data minimization, retention limits, access controls, and security measures.
We may also process personal information where you have provided consent (for example, certain marketing communications or optional integrations). You can withdraw consent by changing your preferences, opting out, or contacting us.
Your rights over your information
We believe you should be able to access and control your personal information no matter where you live. Depending on your location and how you use Tedious, you may have the right to request:
access to your personal information
correction or updating
deletion
portability
restriction or objection to certain processing
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Important note for Customers of Tedious Pros
If you are a Customer interacting with a Pro (for example, booking, paying, or messaging through their Tedious page), the Pro is typically the controller of your data, and Tedious generally acts as a processor/service provider. In that case, you should contact the Pro directly to request access, deletion, or changes. We may provide tools to Pros to help fulfill these requests.
If you have a direct relationship with Tedious (for example, you created a Tedious account), you can submit requests by contacting us at privacy@tediousapp.com.
Where we send your information
Tedious operates in the United States, and we may process and store information in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate. Data may be subject to the laws of those countries. We take steps to protect your information when it is transferred across borders, including contractual and technical safeguards where appropriate.
How long we retain your information
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate operational needs such as security, compliance, and dispute resolution. Retention depends on how you use Tedious:
If you are a Pro, we generally retain your account and business data while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for compliance, backups, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention.
If you are a Customer of a Pro, the Pro generally determines retention, and we store and process data on their behalf.
When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or anonymize information where possible, subject to legal and operational requirements.
Our use of AI and automated systems (“Ted”)
Tedious uses AI-assisted features to help Pros respond faster, capture job details, automate follow-ups, and reduce admin work.
AI may process message content and job-related information to generate drafts, recommendations, or automated replies.
Tedious uses AI in ways intended to support business operations and does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects without appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use your data to train public AI models.
How we protect your information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and secure infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How we share your information
We share personal information only as necessary:
Service providers who help us run the Service (hosting, analytics, messaging delivery, support tools, security vendors, and payment processors)
Payment providers (for example, to process transactions and prevent fraud)
Legal and safety reasons (to comply with law, enforce agreements, or protect users and the public)
Business transfers (merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale, with appropriate safeguards)
We require service providers to protect data and use it only to provide services to Tedious.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, remember preferences, improve performance, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
How you can reach us
If you want to ask about, make a request relating to, or complain about how we process personal information, contact us:

If you are a Customer of a Pro and have questions about how that Pro handles your data, contact the Pro directly and review their privacy policy.
